Your Opportunity to Help Homeless Animals at the Dearborn Animal Shelter

What is the Caring Heart Club?

It is a multi-year giving society that allows supporters to create a unique and personal partnership with the Friends and the animals cared for at the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

 

What is multi-year pledging?

The amount you pledge this year is the same amount you agree to pledge over the next 2 years.

 

Why the need for Caring Hearts?

 

What will the proceeds go toward?

Caring Heart dollars help fund day-to-day shelter needs, including:

  • food and formula for nearly 3,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens

  • regular medical treatments (such as spaying and neutering) and vaccinations

·         helping to offset the cost of emergency medical situations that frequently arise.

       For example, a young Shepherd mix came to our shelter as a cruelty case. Her front right leg was broken and had been allowed to heal without medical treatment. As a result, the plucky girl was virtually walking on a permanently bent joint, and obviously in pain. Unfortunately, her leg could not be saved, but once it was amputated she was able to live pain free. Plus, she “blossomed” into an outgoing and playful pup. Blossom now lives with her mom and dad, Doug and Paula, who report: she just “exudes joy.”
