Zoe getting comfy in her new home
Zoe the bee looking for trick-or-treaters
|
Sylvia and Brett Kubitz of Dearborn could not decide which photo to send to accompany their Happy Tail regarding the pup they adopted In October of 2007, so they sent 8 of them. We can't decide either so we are posting all of them. Zoe was named Blessy at the shelter when Sylvia and Brett took her to her new home. They report that Zoe loves to go for walks, play tug with her daddy and cuddle with her mommy.
Miss Zoe has tons of energy and needed a lot of training to keep her from jumping the fence (which she makes look like child's play) and chasing the cats in the house. It is easy for some pet owners to give up on a young pup for bad behaviors, but with consistent training and love the results are wonderful. Zoe was adopted just after our family member Rocky (a dog also from the shelter) passed away. She had big paws to fill from the beginning. Although Zoe is not Rocky, she brings her own unique love and happiness to our family. I already can not imagine life without her! Before Zoe joined the Kubitz family, Bret and Sylvia adopted a gorgeous feline from the shelter and named her Winnie.

S
tephen Gautreau adopted Moo, 4 year old tabby cat, from the shelter on October of 2007. Stephen took him to his home in Dearborn and renamed him Moe where they began their life together. Stephen reports that Moe loves to play with a toy attached to a string on a pole and that he loves to sit on his lap.
He has a cat perch in the back window and can sit on the table by the front window in the den. When I come home from lunch, he shares some of my turkey breast. He also has taken out a "mortgage" on the house...so I guess he means to stay for a while. He is also a lap cat...and is very friendly to any one who visits. He especially loves my girlfriend Fran. She took the pictures of Moe and me. |

Willow and Hermione |
Mary from Canton has a new kitten named Willow. She adopted her from the shelter in November of 2007 when the kitten's name was Cheryl. Mary says that they have purchased several toys for Willow, but she prefers to play with her big sister Hermione. Hermione is a 1 year old, 7 pound yorkie mix. Mary goes on to say, "although she was a little timid at first she began to purr almost immediately when she came home. Willow has adjusted very well and so far seems to be a very happy and social cat. Thanks to everyone at the shelter who cares for these animals until they find a home." |

Freddie's picture goes here. |
Three year old Freddie was called Merlin at the shelter in November of last
year. That is until Irma Barry adopted him and took him home to live
with her in Farmington Hills. Irma says that Freddie really enjoys
playing with his toys. Irma wants us to know: He is loveable! and loving! One week after I brought him home I had to leave for a 6 day trip to California. The gal upstairs loved Freddie and offered to cat-sit. She has one cat and a foster cat she can't give up, also volunteers at the animal shelter. I've cut his nails and brushed him and he has a bed on my bed he sleeps in at night by me, on top of the covers. [The] day after I brought him home, I took hip up to Lansing area in a cat carrier I bought. It was Thanksgiving Day and my son had a fairly new kitten (a manx-no tail). The kitten let Freddie know it was his house tho, but I will take him again. He meowed all the way up and back tho [he] had food [and a] litter box in his carrier, he still wasn't happy. "I love him." |

September of 2007 was a lucky time for sweet 3 year old Celeste and a nice man in Dearborn Heights. She began her new life with a new name, he changed her name to Middy. In the Happy Tail that Middy's new owner submitted he tells us that Middy likes "playing with my shoelaces while I'm either putting shoes on or off. She also likes to play with the plastic rings from milk bottles." "We bonded immediately, she is so affectionate, has a wonderful disposition, just a perfect companion. How lucky I am." |
